‘The Dance of the Seven Veils’

The play centres on the death of John the Baptist, but gives the story a transgressive twist. In the Gospels, Salome is persuaded by her mother, Herodias, to dance for her stepfather, King Herod, after extracting his promise to give her anything she wishes; the prize she claims is the Baptist’s head.
